BlackMatter Ransomware Joins the List of Ransomware Families Targeting VMware ESXi Servers

This is the latest ransomware that is able to target VM platforms, some of the other ransomware operations that do the same are REvil, RansomExx/Defray, Mespinoza, HelloKitty, and Babuk.
