Tokyo needs to establish a cyber ministry to oversee and defend the nation’s cybersecurity infrastructure against threats, says Major General Tanaka Tatsuhiro, a former commanding general of the GSDF’s Signal School.

While the North Korean regime has been unsuccessful in securing U.S. and U.N. sanctions relief, their hackers have been able to procure more than $1 billion worth of stolen cryptocurrency for Pyongyang from 2021 to June 2022.
